CHÂTEAU MUSAR

Château Musar is one of the most legendary wineries on the international wine scene. Founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, it is today a symbol of elegance, authenticity, and tradition. Recognized as one of the region's first wineries to establish itself on the global stage, Château Musar has successfully combined the richness of its Middle Eastern terroir with a respectful, artisanal production philosophy.

The organically farmed vineyards extend across gravelly, calcareous soils at over 1,000 meters above sea level. This unique microclimate, characterized by marked temperature variations and Mediterranean influences, allows the grapes to ripen slowly and completely. The main varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan for the reds, while the whites feature Obaideh and Merwah, two ancient native Lebanese varietals.

The Château Musar style is unmistakable: the reds are rich, complex, and long-lived, capable of evolving for decades, with notes of ripe fruit, spice, leather, and tobacco; the whites, produced from centuries-old vines, are deep, minerally, and surprising, among the most distinctive in the world. The production philosophy involves spontaneous fermentations, lengthy aging in wood, and a minimal approach in the cellar, ensuring authenticity.
