The history of La Nicchia is rooted in the authentic soul of Pantelleria, a wild and captivating island in the heart of the Mediterranean. It was here that, in 1949, Antonio Bonomo and Girolamo Giglio founded the island's first caper factory, beginning a journey of dedication, hard work, and love for the land.
Over time, the founders' legacy was inherited by their children and passed on to Gabriele Lasagni, who, with passion and vision, renewed his commitment to quality and the local identity. Thus was born the current La Nicchia, the only Pantelleria business that combines a farm, caper factory, and artisanal workshop in a single integrated supply chain.
For over 60 years, La Nicchia has not only produced simple traditional Pantelleria products, but has also carefully selected and transformed the finest local ingredients, respecting their seasonality and uniqueness. Each product is the fruit of manual labor and a profound respect for the land, with the aim of showcasing the Pantellerian region and expressing its essence through authentic flavors.
La Nicchia is more than a brand: it's a place of the soul, a project that preserves and enhances an agricultural and cultural heritage, transforming it into gastronomic excellence.
