Massimo Lentsch is a name embodied by a clear vision: to celebrate Etna's most authentic and vertical soul through elegant, distinctive wines deeply rooted in the terroir. The winery was born from the desire of Alto Adige entrepreneur Massimo Lentsch to transfer his winemaking experience, gained over years in Valpolicella, to the unique and vibrant setting of Etna.
In 2018, after discovering the extraordinary potential of the volcano's lava slopes, he founded his winery in Solicchiata, on the northern slope of Etna, amid dry stone walls, bush-trained vineyards, and mineral-rich black soils. Here, at altitudes approaching 700 meters, wines express depth, freshness, and mineral tension, thanks to the unique climate and striking temperature contrasts.
The native grape varieties—Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Carricante—are the undisputed protagonists of a rigorous, artisanal production process that respects nature. Massimo Lentsch's wines are distinguished by their expressive clarity, stylistic precision, and balance between volcanic power and aromatic finesse.
The company adopts a sustainable approach, with low-impact agronomic practices and constant attention to the valorization of individual crus. Each label is an authentic interpretation of the terroir, combining modernity and tradition, intuition and rigor.
With just a few hectares and a deliberately limited production, Massimo Lentsch today represents one of the most interesting emerging companies on the Etna scene, with the ambition of bringing Etna to the world's finest glasses.
