PAUL PERNOT

Domaine Paul Pernot, one of Puligny-Montrachet's historic names, boasts over two centuries of expertise, now managed by brothers Paul and Michel, the sixth generation of the family. The estate extends across 23 hectares of vineyards, second only to Domaine Leflaive in size, producing 15 wines: 11 Chardonnays and four rare interpretations of Pinot Noir.

The philosophy is natural and sustainable viticulture, with free-range grassing and no herbicides, while the winemaking process aims to express the transparency of the terroir. Fermentation takes place in concrete for the base wines and in small oak barrels for the Village, Premier Cru, and Grand Cru wines, with 11-18 months of maturation and a balanced use of French oak (20% new oak for the Premier Cru wines and 40% for the Grand Cru wines).

Appreciated for its elegance and precision, the Domaine is recognized as one of the most authentic interpreters of Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay, capable of combining delicacy, balance and fidelity to the terroir.
