Founded towards the end of the 18th century, the Pecchenino Agricultural Company It is a family -run business located in the prestigious Dogliani area , in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont . With a centuries - old history behind it, Pecchenino is among the most authentic protagonists of Piedmontese viticulture .
The first official documents attest to the company's winemaking activity in the early 20th century, when grandfather Attilio cultivated just over eight hectares of vineyards. In the 1970s , management passed to Marino, Attilio's son , who kept the tradition alive with great dedication .
The real qualitative and quantitative leap occurred at the end of the 80s , when Orlando and Attilio, sons of Marino, expanded the vineyard area to approximately 25 hectares , distributed between the municipalities of Dogliani and Monforte d'Alba , in the heart of the Langhe.
Cultivation focuses mainly on the symbolic vine of the area , Dolcetto di Dogliani , alongside Barbera , Nebbiolo and Chardonnay . and Sauvignon Blanc . Pecchenino applies sustainable farming practices , respecting nature and biodiversity : no herbicides are used , grassing is practiced to prevent soil erosion , and at least two vine thinnings are carried out per season, prioritizing grape quality .
