Gautheron Chablis Premier Cru l'Homme Mort 2023

The 2023 Gautheron Chablis Premier Cru l'Homme Mort is a white wine of great finesse from Domaine Gautheron, made from 100% Chardonnay grown in the vineyards of the prestigious l'Homme Mort climate, located in the northern part of the Chablis Premier Cru appellation. The Kimméridgian terroir, rich in marine fossils and calcareous clay, gives the wine complexity, freshness, and minerality.

It has a straw yellow color with golden highlights. On the nose, it offers a refined and intense bouquet, with notes of white flowers, citrus, ripe peach, and hints of iodine. On the palate, it is elegant and harmonious, with a perfect balance between fresh acidity, structure, and flavor, and a long, persistent finish reminiscent of the flint typical of the finest Chablis.

A classy white wine, capable of evolving over time, ideal for pairing with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, sushi, fine cuisine, and creamy, bloomy-rind cheeses. Served at 10–12°C in large Chardonnay glasses, it best expresses its aristocratic personality.
