Mancini Roncaja Colli Pesaro DOC 2023
Roncaja is the white wine that symbolizes the Pesaro winemaking tradition , produced by Fattoria Mancini , a historic winery located in the heart of the Monte San Bartolo Natural Park , just 1.5 km from the Adriatic coast .
The name recalls the homonymous village of Roncaglia , among the most suitable for the cultivation of Albanella , a native white grape variety , traditionally used for the city 's white wine . Since 1994 this wine has obtained the recognition of the DOC Colli Pesaresi Roncaglia , an exclusive denomination whose specifications require a minimum component of 25 % of Pinot Noir vinified in white .
Roncaglia is composed of 70 % Albanella and 30 % Pinot Noir , harvested manually and immediately cooled in the vineyard with a mobile cold room to preserve their aromatic integrity . The vinification takes place cold, in steel , without malolactic fermentation , and the refinement on the fine lees lasts 4 months, to enhance freshness and complexity.
In the glass it has a pale yellow color with greenish reflections . The olfactory profile is dominated by citrus notes , white flowers and salty accents . The taste is fresh, tense, with an excellent structure , with a marked minerality. and a long , savoury finish , reflecting the influence of the sea and the particularity of the silty limestone sandstone soil .
An identitary and long-lived white wine , perfect with grilled fish , raw fish, seafood appetizers and plant- based cuisine .
