Chateau Musar Red Gaston Hochar 2009
The 2009 Gaston Hochar is one of the most prestigious wines from the legendary Château Musar, a symbolic Lebanese winery founded in 1930 in the Bekaa Valley by Gaston Hochar. This exclusive label, dedicated to its founder, comes from organically farmed vineyards located at over 1,000 meters above sea level, where the marked temperature variations enhance the elegance and complexity of the grapes.
Obtained from a skilful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan (Carignano), the 2009 Gaston Hochar is vinified with spontaneous fermentations, aged for a long time in oak barrels and subsequently in the bottle, according to the natural and artisanal approach that has made Musar famous throughout the world.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color with garnet highlights. The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe red fruits, black cherry, oriental spices, tobacco, leather, and light balsamic notes, enriched with mineral nuances. On the palate, it is rich, velvety, and enveloping, with soft, well-integrated tannins, balanced freshness, and a long, persistent, and elegant finish. The 2009 vintage stands out for its fullness and harmony, with great aging potential.
Perfect paired with red meats, game, truffle dishes and mature cheeses, the 2009 Gaston Hochar is a meditation wine and a fine wine for fine dining, intended for collectors and connoisseurs.
