Chateau Musar Red Gaston Hochar 2008
The 2008 Gaston Hochar is one of the rarest and most prestigious labels from Château Musar, a symbolic Lebanese winery founded in 1930 in the Bekaa Valley by Gaston Hochar. This wine was created as a tribute to its founder and represents a classy selection, made from organically grown grapes in vineyards located over 1,000 meters above sea level.
Produced mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan, it is vinified with spontaneous fermentations and long aging in oak barrels and subsequently in the bottle, following the natural and artisanal philosophy that has made Château Musar famous throughout the world.
In the glass, it displays a deep garnet red color. On the nose, it releases intense and layered aromas of ripe red fruits, plum, black cherry, tobacco, leather, and oriental spices, enriched with balsamic and ethereal notes. On the palate, it is ample, velvety, and powerful, with silky tannins, balanced freshness, and a very long finish that reflects its more than ten years of evolution.
Perfect paired with game, rich roasts, truffle dishes and mature cheeses, the 2008 Gaston Hochar is a meditation wine, intended for collectors and great enthusiasts.
