Chateau Musar White Gaston Hochar 2012
The 2012 Château Musar White Gaston Hochar is one of the most surprising and rare labels from the legendary Lebanese winery, founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar in the Bekaa Valley. This unique white wine is made from two ancient native Lebanese grape varieties, Obaideh and Merwah, often considered the ancestors of Chardonnay and Semillon, respectively. They are grown organically on centuries-old vineyards located over 1,000 meters above sea level.
Vinified with spontaneous fermentations and aged for a long time in oak barrels and subsequently in bottle, the White Gaston Hochar 2012 embodies the natural and artisanal philosophy of Château Musar, with a style that recalls the great oxidative and long-lived whites of the world.
It displays a deep golden color. The bouquet is complex and layered, with aromas of dried fruit, honey, candied citrus, Mediterranean herbs, and refined oxidative notes, enriched with mineral and spicy nuances. On the palate, it is broad, creamy, and enveloping, with balanced acidity, great depth, and a very long finish, capable of further evolving over time.
Perfect paired with rich fish, shellfish, spicy dishes, white meats and mature cheeses.
